This morning in Ukuwela there was a darting of a baby giraffe was planned. Greg had seen something on her skin that could have been caused by a virus. So he called the vet to let her been darted and treated with some medicine. A biopsy has been made to see what kind of virus it could be. She got something like antivirus spray over her skin. It was red. We saw how the vet drove close to the giraffe with a quad bike in order to dart her. We could only approach when the baby giraffe lied down. It was hard to dart her, as the darts first fell out. But Greg helped the vet with a drone. He could see where the baby giraffe was.

the darted giraffe was lying there. We could touch the fur.
Me touching the fur of the baby giraffe. So cool. It has been given a reverse drug. We had to jump into the car and she stood up and walked away.
