Tongariro Alpine Crossing-a dream came true!

Today we made Mike`s dream come true, to walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. 28 years ago he could do only a small part of it because of heavy rain. We saw that the weather would be good today so we decided to go. We had to book a shuttle from our National Park backpacker. The shuttle brings you to the starting point on one side of the Apine Crossing and fetches you up on the other side.  The walk was quite crowded with some hundreds of people, but it was worth to do. It was literally outstanding! We walked for 6:40 hours.
