From Whanganui we drove up north to Napier. Napier was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931. After that it was rebuild in 3 years with all Art Deco style houses. There was the Art Deco festival going on. Everyone was dressed up in the style of the 1930s. Very cool.
In our BB in Whanganui our host offered us mountain paw paw fruits from his garden. They taste similar to passion fruits.
There were old cars everywhere.
Some drove through the town.
A kind of tractor which worked with a steam motor.
