Craco wurde in den 70-ger Jahren nach vielen Erdbeben und einem massivem Erdrutsch verlassen. Dabei rutschte das untere Dorf komplett ab. Das Dorf wurde zum Gl\u00fcck vorher evakuiert, so dass niemandem etwas geschah. Heute wohnt niemand mehr da. Das Dorf wurde Filmkulisse einiger bekannter Filme wie der James Bond Film \u201cA quantum of solace\u201d.
